A Very Short Story
Ernest Hemingway purportedly wrote the following very short, six-word story: “For sale, Baby shoes, Never Worn.”
While this may (or may not) be true, it continues to inspire writers to come up with similar uber-short stories.
In that spirit, I came up with an even more concise uber-short five-word story, besting the Old Man by a word. This was first posted on my Facebook page on April 23, 2014 (feel free to search my FB feed if you don’t believe me.) I would even go so far as to claim that it has a three-part arc with a beginning, middle and end.
Story Title: Jesus Returned
“Jesus returned, looked, and wept.”
